Yamanashi’s winters are bitterly cold, but by the end of February the sun will warm up and the plum blossoms will begin to bloom. On the north side of the Kofu Basin, there is the Garden Park of Eternal Life that named “FUROUEN”, which is known for its plum blossoms. It is said that a local kimono dealer opened this park in 1897 and planted various plums from all over Japan. On the day I took a walk with Polo, the flowers were still in half-blooming.
山梨の厳しい寒さも２月の終わり頃には日差しが暖かくなり梅の花が咲き始めます。甲府盆地の北側に梅の名所として知られる「不老園」があります。ここは明治30年に地元の呉服商が作った園で全国からいろんな梅を集めて植え付けたそうです。ポロとお散歩した日はまだ五分咲きぐらいでした。
There is a cafe called “Choseikaku” in the park where we can enjoy Matcha, Amazake, Miso Oden, and more. My sweet Polo also got some oden.
園内には「長生閣」というカフェがあり抹茶や甘酒、みそおでんなどが頂けます。ポロちゃんもおでんを少し頂きました。
From here, you can see the Kofu Basin, and now we can see beautiful Mt. Fuji covered with snow.
ここからは甲府盆地が一望でき、この時期には雪をかぶった綺麗な富士山も見ることができます。
